SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Marr Contracting Pty Ltd (The Men From Marr’s), have been awarded the contract to deliver an integrated heavy lifting craneage solution for the construction of Circular Quay Tower.
Lendlease awarded the contract in June 2019 after inviting Marr to develop a craneage solution to support their desired construction methodology for the project after previously working together on a number of other high-profile projects in the Sydney CBD – including Crown Sydney Barangaroo, Darling Harbour Live and 60 Martin Place.
The craneage solution developed by Marr – using a heavy lift M860D and two high-speed M390D tower cranes with 25-tonne winches – will allow Lendlease to lift fewer but heavier steel components and construct the project in a way that will drive productivity, reduce time, reduce project cost and improve safety.
Designed by leading architectural firm, Foster + Partners, the new 280-metre high-rise will become Sydney’s tallest office tower and an impressive addition to the city’s skyline. The Tower is due for completion in late 2021.
